Day 1 - Sat, May 18

Arrival at Pisa Airport Galileo Galilei and transfer to Casa Piero in Viareggio. There will be a limited amount of transfers offered which will be established once everyone’s flight schedules are in. It is recommended you book a flight that lands after 11am and before 4pm. If you remain within our suggested time slot you can avoid having to wait at the airport for a long time if you should arrive too early or having to reach Casa Piero by your own means if you arrive too late. The venue in Viareggio is a newly renovated, early twentieth-century town house with five en suites that's just a five-minute walk from the beach and right around the corner from the market and the city's best cafés and restaurants. Viareggio is a seaside resort in northern Tuscany boasting a two-mile-long esplanade lined with decorative Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings, historic cafés and fancy boutiques. When all the guests have arrived, go on a walking tour and enjoy a gelato at one of the many excellent gelaterie in town. Welcome aperitifs and dinner at Casa Piero.

Day 2 - Sun, May 19

After an early breakfast catch a fast train to Rome (less than 3 and a half hours). Reach the Eternal City before noon and catch a taxi to our hotel. Enjoy a traditional Roman meal in a local restaurant. Go on a walk to see some of the city's main sites: Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps (approximately a three-mile walk). Free time in the evening. Dinner oyo.

Day 3 - Mon, May 20

After an early breakfast visit the Vatican. Spend the whole morning here. Try some of Rome's other signature dishes at lunchtime in another great restaurant. Go on a second walking tour of the city to see more of the city's sites: Capitoline Hill, Victor Emanuel Monument, Imperial Forum, Colosseum (approximately a three-mile walk). Free time in the evening. Dinner oyo,

Day 4 - Tue, May 21

Free time in the morning to do some shopping, catch a museum or see some of the other sites you missed. Take a fast train from Rome back to Casa Piero in Viareggio. Arrive in town in the late afternoon. Dinner in Villa.

Day 5 - Wed, May 22

After breakfast take part in a fun, hands-on cooking class preparing a full-course meal to have at lunch. Pietrasanta, a charming little town that attracts artists from around the world will be our afternoon outing. Beautiful palazzi, churches and lively cafés overlook the vast, open central square that is frequently the site of whimsical sculpture exhibits. Have dinner at Casa Piero.

Day 6 - Thu, May 23

After breakfast visit Pisa to see what is perhaps one of Italy's most famous symbols, the Leaning Tower. Spend the morning exploring the majestic piazza made up of equally stunning white marble buildings that stand out against the square's green lawns (approximately a two-mile walk). After lunch be surprised to discover how many other noteworthy sights there are to see in this charming and lively university town. Return to Viareggio. Free time to go for a stroll, shop, ride a bike or go for a dip in the sea before dinner at casa Piero.

Day 7 - Fri, May 24

After breakfast drive to La Spezia to catch a ferry to visit what is arguably the prettiest of all the coastal towns in Liguria. A colorful huddle of old fishermen's homes greet those who visit the picturesque seaside town of Portovenere. Leisurely strolls through winding, narrow streets will disclose spectacular seascapes of emerald waters lapping along the town's rocky shoreline (approximately a one-mile, partly uphill walk). Lunch oyo. Enjoy a wine tasting en route back to Viareggio. Dinner in Casa Piero.

Day 8 - Sat, May 25

After breakfast visit Florence, cradle of the Renaissance and a city that needs no introductions. Go on a walk to see some of the extraordinary art and architecture the city is packed with. Lunch oyo, (approximately a three-mile walk). Return to Viareggio for dinner at Casa Piero.

Day 9 - Sun May 26

After breakfast visit the endearing city of Lucca, hidden behind imposing Renaissance walls. Its cobbled streets, handsome piazzas and shady promenades make it a perfect destination to spend the day and with a ratio of 1 shop per every 3 inhabitants it's a great place for shopping. In the morning go for a walk to see the town's main sites (approximately a two-mile walk). After lunch oyo you can decide to go on an additional walk to explore the town further, or enjoy free time to either go shopping, ride bikes around the tree-lined city walls, or catch a museum. Return to Viareggio. On returning from Lucca enjoy a second hands-on cooking class preparing a full-course meal to have farewell dinner.

Day 10 - Mon, May 27

After breakfast departure from Pisa international airport. Check out time at villa is by 11 am. We recommend you book a flight that leaves before noon. We will only offer a limited amount of transfers to airport therefore if you remain within our suggested time slot you can avoid having to wait at the airport for a long time if your flight departs very late or having to reach airport by your own means if your flight departs very early.
